Infrastructure and Research Resources
The design of robust and safe coastal solutions in the field of maritime and coastal engineering requires the combination of field observations, laboratory experiments and numerical modelling. This synergy makes it possible to understand reality (“what is happening”), analyse its causes (“how and why”) and predict future scenarios (“what will happen if...”).
To make this synergy possible, LIM/UPC has a set of field and laboratory facilities, as well as advanced tools, numerical models and specialised instrumentation, enabling it to address and respond to the most complex challenges in maritime and coastal engineering.
LIM/UPC is part of MARHIS, Maritime Aggregated Research Hydraulic Infrastructures, a Singular Scientific and Technical Infrastructure (ICTS) of the Spanish Ministry of Economy and Competitiveness.
